  The Fast and the Furious
Starring Rick Yune

6.26.01 -- So I didn't see "The Fast and the Furious" over the weekend. But the movie raked in $41 million, so no doubt you did. What did you think? How did Mr. Yune fare? Disgrace to the race or cool rockin' daddy? Should I rush out to the theaters or invest my ten bucks elsewhere? You make the call.

I remember when azns were the only ones into japanese import, besides rich old people who like them because they get great gas mileage. Oh yea the only people I give it up to are the people who hate "Ricers". Why because the likely hood of them hatin before the movie was probably true and atleast they arent faken it. The ones that fliped a bitch and spanked their monkeys to fit in are pathetic morons that probably wanted a camaro or a mustang and probably almost got a dodge neon the day they went to see the movie. Now all you see is dumb wanabes that crack on azns yet they are tryin to take over the culture we created. Last I heard lil Billy was gettin ready to go to college and gettin a perfectly fine ford focus with stock suspension now hes a street racer with tien suspensions and a college drop out. If you guys wanna talk the shit atleast try not to be us because all I see is white america "hollywood" is makin azn americans look bad and on top of it rick yune is the ass hole in the movie who shoots ADD white boy, he deserved it anyways like that other white dude said he should be going to mit or something. Anyways peace.

I don't know what all this is about--but I just wanna say: DAMN. The Yune brothers are the most stunning asian men on the planet (probably the most stunning men period). I don't know about them as people, but they were blessed with the most perfect looks that could possibly be given to mortals.
I'm not asian, but I sure appreciate beauty when I see it--no matter what colour it is.
Guys: don't be jealous--they can't help how fine they are. We love you for who you are, and lust them for what they are. ;)

First of all, all this racism shit gotta end. Second of all, Rick Yune is the hottest asian man I've ever seen. No, Im not asian, Im dominican and it doesn't matter what you look like on the outside, its what counts on the inside. I think that Rick Yune did a great job in this movie. His brother, Karl Yune, did a great job in his movie, Anacondas 2, search for the blood orchid. These are the only asian men I know of who I would actually hook-up with. With me, I don't discriminate against any race. so all of you who say things about blacks, whites, and hispanics, you all going to hell. holla at your girl at this site or any other. Got problems? Solve em', Im out!!

i know im a couple o' years late but, yo the MAN, u sound a lil like ur hatin on an asian brother. wassup? ur asian right? the guy was expressing his opinion-no need to get technical. damn.

I only watched it for the cars. but then everyone was talking about it after it came out, and i was like "wow, NOS sure, great!" (sarcasm) after that cauasian boys were talking about cars like they knew something about it, lemme let you know....NOS IS A BRAND! IT'S NITROUS OXIDE YOU FOOL!" other things that i would like to clarify;

THINGS THAT DO NOT MAKE YOUR CAR GO FASTER:
- putting stickers on your car or painting designs.
- car wings, the bigger and higher it is, the more you'll get laughed at.
- neon lights, they're just for show, not for racing since all they do is weigh your car down.

that's all i have to say.

I just wanted to respond to this gentleman: ShaoFuTzer.I am a student in college. My project for Ethinic class is to research how Asian americans are portrayed within North American movies/media. Please note that we as a group not only noted high volumes of descrimination (acting roles) but? terrible stereo typing as well. I was hoping that you would be able to address
my class: with the following:
1st: As people (students) that will take part in shaping our future , How could we be more sensitive to Asian Americans?
2nd: What would you like to share with my class
about your culture?
*Please address your e-mail to: SOC140Wilson-Fo.
Thank you~

Hollywood is afraid to cast Asians in movies unless as villains or the girlfriend of some white dude. The reason? American corporate media's attempt to desexualize the Asian male whilst oversexualizing the Asian female. Why? Because in top positions of the media lie horny old white men who dream of Asian girls all day and have no other outlet besides movies and prostitutes. White American men feel threatened when they see a white girl with an Asian man. I should know because I've dated a ton of white girls. Don't believe me? When was the last time you saw an Asian couple depicted in an American movie or TV even? Ok, now how many girls of other nationalities have you seen with Asian men in American media? See?

Posted by: ShaoFuTzer on February 17, 2005 10:14 AM

This could just be my experience, since I'm from the San Francisco area, but import racing, or racing of most of the cars featured in "Fast and the Furious," is almost exclusively an Asian American culture. Probably less than one out of ten Honda, Toyota, or Acura racers are non-Asian. So my complaint is that there should have been more Asian leading characters. But instead, they stick Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. How predictable of Hollywood. The sequel fared no better: Paul Walker and Tyrese. No offense to these stars, but that's some straight bullshit.

Posted by: Le Sheng Liu on September 9, 2004 05:37 PM

well YUP,

when's the last time you saw an Asian in the 1950's tuning up an American muscle car?

(u don't have to answer that - its a rhetorical question)

the point is that the term "cool" is a subjective viewpoint. What was cool in the 50's may not ring true today, and more specifically, what one subculture deems "cool" may not seem "cool" to another subculture.

don't get me wrong, street racing jap imports are hella cool - but as asian-americans, we shouldn't be too quick to judge other subcultures just because it seems like they are infringing upon what you think asians invented first.

it's like that dr. seuss story where a race of creatures thought they were cool cuz they were the first to have dots on their belly, but they got pissed cuz the other race of creatures whom they considered 'inferior' copied them.

Posted by: the MAN on June 15, 2004 11:15 PM

True that we asians cannot take the credit of inventing "racing". But we were doing it long time b4 anyone else ever considered it "cool".
When's the last time you saw a white guy or black or hispanic guy with japanese imported and tuned cars?

Posted by: Yup on June 12, 2004 02:46 AM

just for the record, asians did not invent street racing. street racing has been in movies even before REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE in the 1955 - in which james dean races to the edge of the cliff in a little game called CHICKEN.

then in 1970's, before directing STAR WARS, George Lucas directed a film called AMERICAN GRAFFITTI which was about street racing in the 50's in the United States.

If I am correct, street racing has been around ever since the autombile was invented - which means street racing was an American invention long before Asians took Japanese-imports racing on the streets of LA.

just wanted to clairify.

I read several messages on here, and I cannot believe how immature the comments were. Some of the comments from those who called this movie or the actors stupid, and bringing the race card(s) into the equation.... I have read your comments and you fit right in with the movie yourself.

Posted by: tom willy on January 31, 2004 06:55 PM

I just read the comments from the idiots and morons (like olga, Cristie, Anita, Carlton and BJ, here) that actually enjoyed this piss stain of a movie.
I see in their excited, juvenile responses, permanent grade school educations and the cognitive abilities of a collective pile of smoldering cow shit.
Amazingly enough, I believe that's the demographic for these two extremely shitty movies.
Coincidence? Didn't think so.

Posted by: john on January 29, 2004 12:06 AM

i think that rick is hot and i love his movies
i liked the fast and the furious it was a tight movie.

Posted by: olga on January 21, 2004 04:54 PM

I don't know how Hollywood can get away with making movies by taking a subculture and using it to their advantage, while demoralizing the race that it was taken from. Last time I checked, Hispanics and Blacks were rollin on lowriders with spokes. Next thing you know they make a movie about hispanics and blacks racing japanese imports. That's only part of it. What about the part where Vin Diesel is beating the living crap out of Rick Yune, literally.
Rob Cohen should've had his nuts checked before making a movie about a subculture that was founded by the Asian-American community, which he knew nothing about.
I commend Rick Yune for his role, but he should've told Cohen to go fuck himself before they put him in front of the camera to get the living shit beat out of him by Vin Diesel. That part was uncalled for and was derogatory in every respect. At least they put Yune instead of some ugly asian guy like they always do.

Posted by: Super DV on December 25, 2003 02:12 AM

I am a white guy (Italian) and i think this movie SUCKS MAJOR DONKEY BALLS!
First of all, what white guy would try to go out with a mexican girl in a Mexican ghetto? lol What a crock of shit. He just wanted free Tacos.
Secondly, I think the movie was more of a cliche than "Speed". You might as well have some Eskimoes and Native Indians in some race cars. And afterwards the Eskimoes kicks a black guys ass with his Harpoon. And then they could hug and say "Race doesn't matter." lol
And then the Fonz could roll up in a decked out 1950's drag racer and say , "Heyyyy!"
Then Alivia newton John could come out and sing songs about The Eskimoe Harpoon "bad boy". While the Mexicans are collecting cans to take to the recycling center to pay for there "super turbo boosters" on their shopping carts.
The movie was so rediculous, why not go all the way? The only people who could have thought that this was a good movie was retarded, mindless MTV fans. And members of the Jesse Jackson faction.
The Fast and the Furious was MORE fake than "Save the Last Dance" Hot White girls don't even like to shop at Wal-Mart let alone move to the ghetto and love getting humped by the BIGGEST UNCLE TOM black guy in the world! Jesus that black guy acted more white than me! lol

Sorry for rambling.

Save a tree, wipe your ass with an owl.

Posted by: Flavio on September 26, 2003 09:52 PM

The movie was a bit unrealistic, if you had a group of that many people and that "diverse" crammed in one space, then a riot would have been inevitable, not a drag race lol.

THis film is OK but it doesn't hold a candle to the

I had a friend go out to south central, so he can get a picture like warren G on anderson and lewis. Him being asian, and to top it all off his ride being japanese and slammed to the ground "asian style," he was ridiculed to take that nip ride out their hood. "2 fast 2 furious" wtf, what a fuckin joke, when did this shit become a nigger thing and white thing, and rick yune what a fuckin' gimp.

Posted by: chink on August 22, 2003 10:18 PM

did u know fast & furious 3 will be in HK? yup...they will have mopeds racing on horse tracks.

Posted by: Ricky Yune on August 20, 2003 12:30 PM

Posted by: Jarrod on June 10, 2003 07:05 AM

this movie sucked....they re are mixed races out at the illegals but the majority would have to be asian.....ive been to places from sacramento down to san diego.....and they re aint that many whites.....this movie is so fake....like they really race tourismo type races......thats why we call it "DRAG".......cars were cool...but do you really see cars like these at the illegals?...hmmmm.....thats why some say show and no go...and some go and no show......wow....they should really go out and talk with real racers b-4 making dip-shits out of themselves...really where are the "ASIANS" in this film......part 2 wont have any either...or maybe 1 again..

Posted by: phejejhmoob916 on June 4, 2003 06:24 PM

wow, this page used to be HUGE. What happened? Ahh, probably for the best. No doubt, the burden will be taken up by "2 fast 2 furious"! Man, can't say that title with a straight face.

p.s. site looks good, but you might want to explain the "forget personal information" button. what does that do?

Posted by: minki on May 15, 2003 01:55 AM

This movie simply kicked ass. Vin Diesel is so freakin hot and he kicked some major ass too. The cars in this movie were great too, especially the eclipse. I cant wait for The Fast and The Furious 2!!

This movie is simply just another example of how White America enjoys stealing ideas from other cultures and passing them off as their own. Anyone that has seen "Legend of Speed", starring Ekin Cheng (which is immeasurably better than this piece of crap movie) would know that the concept itself is a blatant ripoff. Aside from that, you have to be wondering where the reality base in this film is. Where is the Asian influence? Asians playing second fiddle in a movie about a culture that they practically created? Sorry, Cohen, if it weren't for that culture, your movie would be nothing but a modern remake of "Grease" (cars and all). Without Asian-Americans playing a major role in this film, it's as believable as Woody Allen playing the role of Kunta Kinte in "Roots" (Anybody remember Robert Carradine in "Kung Fu"?). Rob Cohen should be dragged through the REAL streets of the import racing world by his neck and shot. As for those of you that think this moron is "in tune with the pop culture", you need to get out more. Cohen is a clueless daydreamer and an outright thief. He makes a movie about something, and all of a sudden, the true pioneers take a back seat to the all the wannabes, posers, bandwagon jumpers and "johnny come latelys". The movie is HIS ideal world. He'd like to believe that he has everything to do with, and something to say about a scene that he doesn't know the first thing about. It's obvious that Cohen doesn't believe in giving credit where credit is due and has made himself out to be the "Vanilla Ice" of the movie industry. So, if you want to see one person envy the ingenuity of another race to the point of stealing thier ideas and capitalizing on them, i suppose you should watch this movie or go shoot yourself. For anyone else (which means the people with brains), this movie should be considered nothing but a slap in the face.
