Bay Area filmgoers, get thee to the theaters this weekend to see Bertha Pan's "Face"! The San Francisco Chronicle loves the film -- here's an excerpt:
Everything is clicking in the independent film "Face," but this tale of an estranged mother and daughter who both struggle with their Asian American identity and the choices they make won't work if Bai Ling isn't any good -- and she is very, very good.
And if that ain't enough, the
San Jose Mercury News (running the LA Times review) gives the film three stars and concludes:
Pan elicits beautiful performances from the actresses playing the three women.
