Philip Chung writes about his Pusan experience

Philip W. Chung is one of five Korean American filmmakers selected for the Korean Film Council’s Film Development Lab program. He writes about the experience for AsianWeek. Here's an excerpt:

... the main thing I took away from the festival is the formation of a more global perspective for me and my fellow Asian Pacific American filmmakers. In the past few years, the Asian film industry has become a powerhouse in every way. One producer I met at PIFF basically framed the situation this way — "In America you have a lot of experienced producers but very little money. In Asia, you have a lot of money but not many experienced producers." No wonder American film companies are desperately trying to break into Asian markets like China.
