Lin, a 20-year-old Korean girl, leaves her native land to come to America. Living with her traditional aunt and uncle, and working alongside her American-born cousin in the family-owned wig shop, Lin learns a great deal about American culture - mostly from African-American women and drag queens. Then Lin meets Akira, a Japanese exchange student, and she confronts the biases within the Asian cultures. With her cousin's support, a relationship begins despite a potentially negative family reaction. |
