The Fine Print
Please read this page before completing your application.
- AsianAmericanFilm.com will select up to eight filmmakers to receive $250 each to make digital short films which, if accepted, will be streamed online at AsianAmericanFilm.com.
- The selection process will be shamelessly subjective -- AsianAmericanFilm.com editor Greg Pak will simply pick the proposals he likes the most and which he feels will work the best in an online screening environment.
- Selections will be made on a rolling basis -- as good proposals come in, the money will be given out until it's gone.
- Selected filmmakers will receive $100 upon signing the Minute Movies agreement, which will be sent to them upon selection. They will receive another $150 upon delivery of their finished films, which shall be no later than 2 months from the date of their selection.
- Selected filmmakers grant AsianAmericanFilm.com the non-exclusive right to stream the Minute Movies they create online.
- AsianAmericanFilm.com may or may not screen individual films online, at its discretion.
- Selected filmmakers retain copyright to their work and can exploit their films however they like, as long as they do not make agreements with other entities which conflict with the agreement to allow AsianAmericanFilm.com to stream the films online.
- Selected filmmakers agree to include the following line in the credits of their film: "Funded in part by AsianAmericanFilm.com, bringing you the latest scoop on Asian American films and filmmakers."
- Selected filmmakers take full responsibility for clearing any and all music rights and must take care of any and all payments required by union or other agreements or contracts. AsianAmericanFilm.com will not stream any films which infringe upon copyrights or have failed to fulfill third party contractural obligations.
- Selected filmmakers affirm that they are producers of their projects, owning the copyright and assuming sole responsibility and liability for their films' content and contractural obligations.
- AsianAmericanFilm.com reserves the right to amend this Fine Print at its discretion. If selected filmmakers disagree with any changes to the Fine Print made by AsianAmericanFilm.com, they have the right to remove their films from the Minute Movie project.
